It just wouldn't be Easter without chocolate, would it. In fact, it wouldn’t be any special occasion or holiday celebration without chocolate.
A Little History
With a long-standing reputation, chocolate is the go-to luxurious treat! It’s incredibly versatile in that it can be enjoyed in many different forms; chocolate bars, truffles, hot chocolate, chocolate bombs, spreads, cakes, cookies and more! It’s rich, decadent in flavor, is sure to please any palette and can be purchased just about anywhere you go! Chocolate, with its 4,000-year history, was used a lot in medicine and initially drank – but now you can find and put chocolate in just about anything.
Chocolate Eggs at Easter – the Beginning
In the early 19th century, J.S. Fry & Sons first introduced the chocolate Easter egg in Britain and by 1875, Cadbury followed suit and created the first ‘modern’ chocolate egg. Since then, Easter eggs have been a wonderful tradition for many families and at Master Chocolat we love experimenting with different flavors of Easter eggs! For the more traditional egg-lover, we have our solid, chocolate foiled eggs in milk or dark, as well as a mixed bag of hollow eggs (2 milk, 2 dark and 1 white) for those that like to mix it up! Additionally, we create bags of chocolate Easter eggs with hazelnut praline, our world-famous caramel and most-recently, peanut butter. With all of our chocolate, we use only the finest fair-trade ingredients and if you need a vegan option, we have you covered!
Who is Hopping Around with the Eggs
Stories of egg-laying rabbits promoted the popular chocolate egg and bunny ‘theme’ for Easter and chocolate bunny molds are believed to have been first introduced in Germany. By the early 1920’s chocolate bunnies became a household tradition to commemorate the holiday and now the chocolate eggs and bunnies are the symbols of such. Hollow bunnies, solid milk or dark and a variety of designs and shapes – the bunny is one of the favorite pieces at Master Chocolat over this holiday because we experiment with new chocolate molds and tend to add a new bunny each year! Meet Stephanie, she is petite, but she is 200g of hollow dark (or milk) chocolate and she’s pretty adorable! Other favorites of ours include; the Laughing bunny (white, milk or dark), Thumper and Simon. We still have all of our prior chocolate bunnies available and if you’re not the ‘traditional’ type, we have chocolate chickens and a Rooster too! Want to mix it up and grab a snack-bag for your car (we do it too, don’t worry) – there’s a scrumptious bag of Caramel Bunnies & Chicks available too.So many more Easter treats available on our website or in-store for purchase. We love that you include Master Chocolat as a part of your Easter tradition, and all of your other traditions or special occasions. If there is ever anything we can do to make a special occasion more memorable, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Sincerely,
Bernard
